RamBase Cloud ERP release info - week 38

The following updates have been added to RamBase Cloud ERP:

Production

Improvements to the Article inspection template (MEASURETEMPLATE) and Measurement forms (MSR)

Classification: USEFUL

As before, you can copy measurement templates from one part to another in the Article inspection template (MEASURETEMPLATE) application. This makes it much easier to reuse setups for similar parts and saves time when creating new templates.

What it does:

  • Copies all relevant measurement data from an existing template and copies it to the current Product (ART).
  • Helps ensure consistency across products.
  • Reduces manual work.

Fixes and Improvements

We’ve now resolved several issues that affected how measurement forms and templates worked together:

Measurement Form Locking

  • Before: Only one application had the option to select a blank value in the drop-down for tolerance class.
  • Now: Both Key characteristics inspection/First article inspection (MEASURELCM) and Article inspection template (MEASURETEMPLATE) provides that option.

Better Synchronization

  • Before: Changing the standard didn’t always update related fields like symbol and unit.
  • Now: These fields update automatically when the standard is changed.

Consistent Tolerance Updates

  • Before: Only one application updated the tolerance when the standard changed.
  • Now: Both Key characteristics inspections/First article inspections (MEASURELCM) and Article inspection template (MEASURETEMPLATE) update the tolerance consistently.

Copy Function Fix

  • Before: Copying from another part didn’t include the standard or tolerance class.
  • Now: These settings are correctly transferred when copying.

Summary

This release improves how measurement templates and forms work together, making them more reliable and easier to use. Whether you're setting up new parts or updating existing ones, things should now run more smoothly.

Enhanced visibility of material availability in the Production work orders (PWOMENU) and Production work orders list (PWOLIST) applications

Classification:  USEFUL

To support more informed release decisions in production planning, RamBase now includes information on the Potential production quantity as an optional column.

Previously, a Production work order (PWO) could be moved to Status 4 – Pending scheduled production start, when materials were available only for the first Operation (OPR).

The new column Potential production quantity, can now be checked against the Remaining quantity column to ensure that there is full material availability for entire production sequence, before releasing a Production work order (PWO).

The column is available as optional in the following applications:

  • Production work orders (PWOMENU)

  • Production work orders list (PWOLIST)

When new columns are added it might be necessary to reset the grid to view the new additions. Reset to default view can be found in the Column settings in the upper right corner of the grid. This will reset the columns displayed, showing only the default columns of the grid. After the reset, the user can choose which columns to display by selecting the columns in the same popup.

New Scheduled production job (SPJ) type: Cancel Production work orders (PWO)

Classification:  USEFUL

To improve efficiency in production planning and reduce manual workload, RamBase now supports automated cancellation of Production work orders (PWO) through the Scheduled production jobs (SPJ) application.

Challenge

Manually cancelling multiple Production work orders (PWO)—especially during planning revisions or large-scale production changes—is time-consuming and error-prone. While Schedule production jobs (SPJ) already supports automation for release and confirmation, cancellation was not previously available as a job type.

Solution

  • A new job type has been added to Schedule production jobs (SPJ):
    Cancel production work order

Key Features

  • Job Type: Available in the Choose job type to schedule for selected objects dropdown when creating a new job.

  • Production work order (PWO) selection:

    • Only Production work orders (PWO) with status lower than 5 are shown in the Add new item popup.

    • Production work orders (PWO) not eligible for cancellation (e.g., with posted materials or started operations) are automatically excluded and will not be available for selection.

  • Execution Options:

    • Jobs can be scheduled for immediate or future execution.

  • Logging:

    • The Output tab displays which Production work orders (PWO) were cancelled and which were skipped, including error messages.

This enhancement enables planners to automate cancellation workflows with the same flexibility and control already available for release and confirmation tasks.

Service

Simplified closure process for service shipping advices

Classification: USEFUL

We’re excited to announce a new enhancement in Shipping advice item (CSAITEM) for handling service shipping advices.

What’s New?

A new CMI/Close Without Invoice option is now available, allowing Shipping advice item (CSAITEM)  to be closed directly to Status 9 - Processed — without needing to forward them to a Sales invoice (CIN).

Cost and material related to the service can still be invoiced through the Customer invoice management (CIM) application. If invoicing is not required, the related Shipping advice item (CSAITEM) can now be closed using the new CMI/Close Without Invoice feature.
