Production: Material/part wastage set in quantity

Classification:  USEFUL

Until now, Material / part wastage in production could only be specified as a percentage of the planned quantity. This release gives users the option to specify wastage in specific quantity or as a percentage of planned quantity.
The method / function is implemented like this:

  1. The Wastage quantity can now be set at a part line in the product structure. This quantity is to be copied to the work order structure when a work order for the product is created.

  2. The Wastage quantity can be added or modified in the Production work order (PWO) structure.

  3. If the work order is split before it is released: The Wastage quantity is not split, the specified wastage quantity will apply to all PWOs.

  4. If the work order is released for production (Status 5) when split:

    1. If the operation that holds the part with wastage quantity is not started: Use the method in point 3.

    2. If the operation that holds the part with wastage quantity is started:

      1. The wastage quantity is split by following the rules for the parts unit precision.

      2. If the wastage quantity becomes too low to split properly, the wastage is kept at the source PWO.

  5. The Wastage quantity can also be set at the part (ART) in the Production tab under Properties, in the grey location area. The quantity that is set at the part will be copied to the part line in the Product (ART) structure when the part is added via the structure designer tool.

Wastage quantity has priority over Wastage percent in the calculation of Planned quantity, then Wastage percent is not used in the calculation.
