Announcement - Product: Product (ART) purchase prices: Changes to the usage of the PurchCol (Price type) field

Classification:  IMPORTANT

To all our customers and partners.

The RamBase team is currently preparing for and refactoring of the Product (ART) application. Part of this work is to refactor, improve and redefine the use of some fields and tables.

We have found that there must be done some changes to the purchase price table in the ART application. The field PurchCol (Price type) has some selectable values that are not supported by any functionality in the system, and we will therefore remove these from the list. Purchase prices that are used to set the cost of purchased materials / parts and displayed in the Purchase (PUR) application are prices with PurchCol = STD (Standard). This is what all customers use for their valid purchase prices used in the purchase functions.

All other purchase price PurchCol values are not used by any purchase function or purchase process. These are: SpecialContractMarket. One exception: Price with PurchCol PROD is the calculated production cost and is used as estimated product cost for manufactured products.

Special prices and contract prices should be added as Purchase quotes (SQU) as these are shown, and can be used, in the purchase process.

We find that the companies that have added purchase prices with these unused PurchCol values have done this some time ago, 99 % of these are older than 1-2 years. Some newer prices are added, but only for 1-2 products in a few companies.

So: All purchase prices that have PurchCol that are different from STD and different from PROD, are set to PurchSt (purchase status) = 9, October 20, 2021. From that date it will not be possible to add new prices with PurchCol <> STD manually or by file input.

Best Regards,

RamBase Product Management Team
