Webinar - Administration: Multiple approvers

It is now possible to require multiple approvers to approve an approval request. It is configured in the Approval configuration (APC) application for each approval type. Assign one or more approvers as 'Default approver' for the approval rules. When all approval rules for the approval type has one or more 'Default approver' configured, activate the setting Automatically assign approval request to Default approvers for this approval type. When a user requests approval, an approval request will be sent to all 'Default approvers' of matching approval rules automatically. They must all approve, or other approvers on the same approval rule can approve on their behalf.


IMPORTANT! Should two or more approval rules overlap to match a required approval, the approval request will be sent to all 'Default approvers' of all these approval rules. Therefore, avoid having overlapping approval rules in your configuration, as this will make it easier for you to have control.


The Approval configuration (APC) application

  • It will be possible to select multiple default approvers. If the new setting is OFF, those selected as default approvers will appear at the top of the list of approvers to whom you can send the approval request. If it is ON, the request will be automatically sent to the 'Default approvers'.

  • Possibility to approve directly in the application.

  • There are new options for Add approver and Change approver. There is also a new option Delete, but at least one request must be approved.

  • Approval request is sent automatically, without having to select approver, if the new setting in APC is ON.

The Approval (APPROVAL) application

  • Possibility to approve directly in the application.

  • Only shows approvals from one database, switch between the databases at the top of the application. The number behind the database link shows how many approvals are waiting for your approval.

  • New radio buttons at the bottom of the application for easier filtering. There is a new option to view approval requests you can approve that were not originally sent to you.

  • Opportunity to choose who to approve on behalf of if the approval request has been sent to multiple approvers (other than yourself).

  • New columns to show other employees to whom the approval request have been sent to and if they have approved the request.


It is especially important that those who configure approval rules in the APC application and those who perform approval of approval requests participate in the webinar.
