We do not have an official list of restricted symbols. The system checks for restricted characters that may cause problems, but for some symbols the user still may experience problems - for example in reports. To avoid this, it is not recommended to use special characters in RamBase.
We have noticed the following can cause problems:
- Semi-colon (;): This is a legal symbol but may create problems for reports that are transferred to files that uses semi-colon as a separator between columns.
- Inverted commas ("): Is a legal symbol but may create problems as well.
- The use of "*", "#", "&", "%", "?" or "/" may cause problems regarding filtering and URL's.
The use of these symbols can cause URL splits in some reports. We therefore recommend the use of either "?" or "*" as wildcards in filtering products containing special characters.
